Exploring the Implementation Challenges of Infection Prevention: Lessons Learned

At the end of this course, the learner will be able to:

• Describe the Systems Engineering Initiative for Patient Safety (SEIPS) approach for evaluation of the work system.
• Define the human factor barriers and facilitators identified in infection prevention research that impact compliance.
• State the lessons learned regarding the implementation of infection prevention practices aimed at improving environmental hygiene and reducing specific healthcare-associated infections (HAIs).
